I envy those of you who have not as of yet had the pleasure of for the first time reading Knut Hamsun. This line is from my own personal favorite, his enigmatic novel "Mysteries". The favorite author of such writers as Miller, Bukowski and others. Hamsun created the spring from which literary modernism grew. His novel "Hunger" is an absolute must read for all artist, regardless of their craft.
