One of my earliest and most powerful musical memories is watching a TV program of Glenn Gould playing and talking about his love of contrapuntal music. It seemed incomprehensible to me that a human being could posess the mind, dexterity and pure poetry to play like he did. Actually It still does, but after having worked as a guitar player for years, I took to studying the piano to just be a part of the most complex and beautiful of all the arts of humanity, the counterpoint of Bach and, who I later came to love even more, Shostakovich. These are some of my favorite pieces in the world, or at least a few of them that I am able to play... More will be added when I get around to it. The files are in MP3 format.
